Is Keith Urban really as nice as he seems?!

    Keith Urban and Billy Kidd

Yes. And then some. I had the opportunity to hang out with Keith a few months ago when he played shows in Buffalo and Rochester. He is the same I guy I met years ago when he was the new name that nobody had ever heard of. He’s the same guy that insisted on carrying his own guitar and suitcase when he played a show at the Roost. He’s the same guy that I watched (several times) take pictures and sign autographs until there were no more autographs to sign. He’s the same guy that brought water and snacks to the paparrazi photographers that had been hounding him and his wife.

That’s why I’m not surprised at the story about a recent concert where Keith pulled a girl out of the audience and brought her on stage with him. He spotted a sign in the audience that basically said “let me play your guitar.” So he did. That teenagers name is Leslie Strong. Girlfriend was not fooling around either. She got on stage and tore that place up!! Keith, and the entire band for that matter, had a look of shock and disbelief on their faces when she pretty much nailed the solo from Keith’s song “Raise the barn.” Keith is a class act. One thing he’s never seemed to lose is his love and respect for his fans. In a world where most artists become larger than life and further from the fans that made them that way, Keith has remembered who put him on top of the world. Click here and take a moment to see one of the coolest moments I’ve ever witnessed at a concert.  Keith Urban with Leslie Strong, from Hazard Kentucky.
