When I was broadcasting from the lilac festival earlier this week I noticed something that had never really caught my eye before….LOTS of couples holding hands. As I watched folks walk by hand in hand it really struck me what a wonderful gesture it is to hold your lovers hand. So simple, so effortless, yet a very powerful public statement of how two people feel about each other. Maybe I’m just a little hypersensitive to that kind of thing these days but I have to admit, it really put a smile on my heart. If you’re at the Lilac festival this weekend I hope you’ll take a moment to smell the flowers and see the love that surrounds us.
