Network TV viewership is down
When it comes to people watching network TV, this past season was the worst EVER. Viewership was down 7%. I hope the network folks aren’t too shocked by this news. A three month writers strike was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Both the writers and the networks shot themselves in the foot with that genius move. What do you people think we, the tv viewing public, did during the strike? We created new habits, that’s what we did. I am a self confessed tv junkie. I hated the fact that my favorite shows were stuck in re run hell. So I grabbed my direct tv remote control, and hit my DVR button until I found shows I like. They are not on network tv. In fact, I have enjoyed those new found shows so much that the network shows sitting on my DVR haven’t been watched, and frankly, probably won’t be. During the strike I also made another discovery, these things called “books.” It had been a long time since I’d seen one, but they are pretty cool. They don’t even need batteries or a $2000 plasma tv to enjoy them.
