I have enjoyed Idol over the years, but I think I’m done watching now. I know they make a living from the ads, but last night was just obnoxious. When they streeeettchheed last nights show to two hours for a 5 second announcement I couldn’t help but watch just to see what kind of crap they’d use to fill in the other 1:59:55. I wasn’t disappoited by the volume or quality of that crap, that’s for sure. Thank God I Tevo’d it so I didn’t actually have to sit thru the whole thing. I stopped at various moments to figure out what was happening. Like the Mike Myers thing, and some pretty lame group songs. I’m still trying to figure out what the heck Brian Adams and George Michael were doing on there. If the show is trying to appeal to a younger demographic then bringing up two performers who peaked in the early 90’s isn’t the way to do it. I’d bet most people college age and younger have just a vague knowledge of who they are.

      I like watching the singers, but just about everything else including the fake tiff between Secrest and Simon is just getting old and obnoxious to me. I think David Cook could have a decent career, as soon as he runs screaming from the clutches of American Idol/Fox/Disney. Disney? Don’t they OWN one of the other networks?!
