Accident

I got a text message from my girlfriend Val today that freaked me out. It was a picture. I’m not going to post it because it is VERY graphic. I opened the message and saw that her face was all ripped up and she has a black eye. I immediately called her and found out she was in a pretty nasty accident on her bike. She was cruising around Conesus lake. Yes. AROUND Conesus lake. She’s a workout animal. Anyway, as she came around a corner she realized a huge chunck of the road had been dug up. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to avoid the torn up road and took a dive off the bike. Her face is all torn up, she has a black eye, and over a dozen spots on her body that are basically torn up. Some people call it road rash. I call it an accident that should never have happened. Apparently, if you’re driving on this road from the opposite direction she was riding there is a sign warning you of a dangerous road condition. There is no sign from the direction she was coming. If I’m wrong, I’ll be the first to apologize. Lucky she was only on a bike. If she were on a motorcycle this might have been a much different message. A very nice women stopped and helped Val clean the blood off her face and get her home. She was a few miles from home when the accident took place so thank God this kind stranger was there to help out. Apparently an accident report was written after somebody called the police. I’m willing to bet there is now a sign facing both directions. Thanks guys. Val’s walking down the aisle in less than a month. I hope the scabs on her face and arms will be small enough by then to be covered with makeup. Just what every bride wishes for.

Thank you so much Anita for stoping and helping, some people are in the right place at the right time to help, you were!

So glad that wasn’t far worse, Billy! Still, bet you were very shook up and even angry at the time. Thank God for good Samaritans. Best wishes to you and your bride-to-be. I’m sure she’ll be beautiful that day, no matter what!
