Is it too early to put the tree up?!
I don’t know what triggered it, but for the past week my 4 year old Aidan has been BEGGING me to put the Christmas tree up. Little by little over the past week my wife had dug out some of the holiday decoractions and put them up around the house. Some lights here, some garland there. This past Saturday, we turned on some Christmas music and put the tree up. Yup. We are in full blown Christmas mode!! It looks too early based on the calendar, but it just felt like the right thing to do. The past few holidays have not been fun, so maybe this is pent up “I want to be happy and I don’t care how crazy people think I am for putting up the decorations so early” energy that I just have to burn off.

we are putting up our tree this weekend because my parents are leaving the day after thanksgiving for a 10 day cruise and that is usually the time we do it. so instead of putting it up late the tree is going up this weekend and i am so excieted!

For the last 11 years on Thanksgiving night after the dishes are done, leftovers packed up and dessert w/ coffee has been enjoyed, I head back to my apartment to decorate. I put on some Christmas music, drag all the totes and boxes out and stay up as late as it takes me to decorate my whole apartment. Then I have the Christmas spirit to enjoy Black Friday crowds and shopping… if it’s possible to enjoy some of the rude and impatient shoppers, hehe.
